The Responsive Environments Foundation, Inc.

REF, Inc., established in 1962, is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in Connecticut. The purpose of REF is to serve as a catalytic agent in bringing sophisticated interactive technology to the world of education. The special strength of the Foundation lies in its ability to quickly assemble outstanding professionals who are willing to serve as "trouble shooters" on perplexing educational problems. The Foundation's own research effort is known as the Clarifying Environments Program (CEP). The thrust of CEP is to design learning environments which produce order-of-magnitude gains in acquiring basic intellectual skills.
