Oatmeal Cookies

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

   1      cup           hard margarine (or butter), softened
   1      cup           brown sugar -- packed
     1/2  cup           granulated sugar
   2      large         eggs
   1      teaspoon      vanilla
   2      cups          quick-cooking rolled oats -- (not instant)
   2 1/2  cups          all-purpose flour
   1      teaspoon      baking soda
   1      teaspoon      ground cinnamon
   1      cup           chopped walnuts
   2      cups          dark raisins
   1      cup           golden raisins

Cream margarine and both sugars together in large bowl.  Beat in eggs, 1 at
a time.  Add vanilla.  Mix.

Stir in rolled oats.

Add flour, baking soda and cinnamon.  Mix well.

Add walnuts and both raisins.  Mix well.  Drop by rounded tablespoonsful
onto greased cookie sheet about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.  Bake in 375 degrees
oven for 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
