Candy Cane Ice Cream

1 quart vanilla ice cream
1/2 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
14 candy canes

Put candy canes in a resealable bag and crush them into
quarter inch pieces or smaller with the smooth side of a meat
tenderizer. Soften vanilla ice cream in the microwave for
10 to 12 seconds in a medium sized bowl. Add candy cane
pieces and peppermint extract and mix until combined.
Transfer into a plastic container, cover, and freeze until firm.
