Sumi Salad

This salad is awesome and great to take for potlucks!

1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
12 green onions, finely sliced
1 head cabbage, finely chopped
5-6 3 oz. packages Ramen noodles, broken (discard flavor packets)

Heat oil in skillet and toast almonds and seeds until lightly browned.  
Combine with onions, cabbage, noodles and dressing.  Cover and chill for 
several hours for flavors to blend.  


1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 cup oil
3/4 cup water
2/3 cup rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1/2 to 1 cup pickled ginger (optional)
1/4 to 1/2 cup soy sauce (optional -- omit salt if used)

Dissolve sugar in water and vinegar.  Add all other ingredients.  Mix well.
