Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
   1 slice white bread
   1 slice american cheese
   2 teaspoons butter or margarine
   1 egg
ketchup in a squeeze bottle -- optional

Using a 2 1/2" heart shaped cookie cutter, cut a heart shape from the
center of the bread; reserve heart piece. Using same cutter, cut a heart
shape from the center of the cheese slice; reserve heart piece. (if need
be, it is simple to cut a free-form heart from bread and cheese with a
knife).

In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. When sizzling, place
bread slice and heart in skillet and brown lightly on one side. Flip bread
pieces and break egg into cutout in bread slice. Cook about 1 1/2 minutes
or until egg begins to set on bottom. Flip bread with egg; remove heart-
shaped piece of bread; top with cheese heart; set aside.

Place cheese slice on bread in skillet. Cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes longer
until egg is set. Remove to plate and, if desired, squeeze an arrow of
ketchup across cheese or outline the heart. Serve heart cutout on the
side.
