Associating Test Cases with Test Sets

There are several ways to add test cases to test sets:

Associating test cases from the test case's folder

You can associate any of the test cases that reside in one folder with a test set by following the steps below:

1. Select 'Folders' from the 'Test Planning' menu to show the list of top-level folders
2. Click on folder names to navigate to the folder that contains the test case(s) that you want to add to a test set
3. Select the checkbox next to the test case(s) that you want to add to the test set
4. Select 'Add to test set' in the dropbox above the list of test cases:

This will take you to a page that lists the selected test cases and prompts you to select the test set from a list:

After you select a test set and submit this form, the specified test cases will be added to the test set. If any of the selected test cases are already associated with the selected test set, they will not be associated again.

Searching for test cases to associate with a test set

You can use the test case search form to locate test cases to add to a test set by following these steps:

1. Select 'Search for test cases' from the 'Test Planning' menu to show the list of top-level folders
2. On the search form, Enter the appropriate search criteria and submit the search
3. If the search results page contains test cases that you want to add to a test set, select the checkbox next to the test case(s) that you want to associate with a test case
4. Select 'Add to a test set' from the dropbox above the test case listing:

This will take you to a page that lists the selected test cases and prompts you to select the test set from a list:

After you select a test set and submit this form, the specified test cases will be added to the test set. If any of the selected test cases are already associated with the selected test set, they will not be associated again.

Associating test cases from the test case's folder

You can associate any of the test cases that reside in one folder with a test set by following the steps below:

1. Go to the test set folder by clicking on 'Test execution' in the navigation bar, and then clicking on the name of the test set
2. On the test case page, click 'Add test cases to test set'. This will show you the test case folder hierarchy, but with functionality for adding test cases to the specified test set.
3. Select the folder containing the test cases you want to associate with the test set
4. Select the checkbox next to the test cases you want to associate and click the 'Add selected test cases to test set' button:
